The NHS is going paperless. As part of this, the NHS’s acute trusts will set themselves up so that they can receive electronic invoices rather than paper or scanned ones. The format which the Department of Health have chosen is called PEPPOL.
PEPPOL stands for Pan-European Public Procurement Online. Under this system, trusts will send out purchase orders and suppliers will send shipping notes and invoices all in the PEPPOL format.
By the 30th of September this year, all of the NHS’s suppliers will have to join a PEPPOL Access Point such as Tungsten. In order to help you choose which one to join, the Department of Health has published a list of FAQs. We at Tungsten, suggest you read it at the link on the right.
The good news is that, if you are already one of the 200,000 suppliers on the Tungsten Network, all you have to do is put the kettle on. We’ve already taken care of all your PEPPOL requirements. Have this one on us. It’s our way of saying thank you for being on the Tungsten Network.
